Location felt luscious. Gained respect for alligators. They do what they do. The glossary at the back was missing one term that I've now forgotten. Some truly harsh justice.

Tami Hoag is great with the murder mysteries. This is the first I’ve read. Takes place in Louisiana bayou. Great read

I have always enjoyed Tami Hoag's books. I just listened to The Boy and enjoyed it very much. It dragged in some places but the characters were interesting and strong. Even though the subject matter is extremely heavy there was a lot of…

A clever murder mystery rooted in realistic police procedures. This is the second installment about Detectives Nick and Annie. This one is 6 years after (story line wise) A Thin Dark Line but about 20 years apart publication date…

I gave this book three and a half stars. It's a good read and the characters have a strong presence. The protagonists, there are two, are equal in the shared billing as good guys. Yes, they are married, but it's not the good guy and his…

Predictably, a great book. Nick and Annie make a believable couple and add to the spice of the story.

Hoag is a powerful storyteller. Fiction but a sad story b/c it involves children; still, such a good read. I could hardly put it down!

Tami Hoag is one of my most consistent and favorite writers. She always tells a good story, has great character development and keeps you guessing until the end. Good read.

A great to return to characters that Hoag first introduced in A Thin Dark Line. I would not be opposed to reading more with Forcade and Annie.

Tami Hoag always writes a complex and readable mystery. Recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby

So far it's repetitive. Hoag is too expert a writer to keep pounding us over the head w/how tragic it is that he's a child. We know. Drama and urgency in a mystery don't come from telling us instead of showing us. She tells and AND she…

I wanted to like it more. The story has all the ingredients of a great mystery novel. Everyone is a suspect and in some way connected to the murder or possible murder of young town folk. However, I found the suppositions repetitive and I…

An astounding story by an amazing author. I thought I had it figured out twice, but was wrong both times. Those are the mysteries I like the best. Tami Hoag is a master of suspense. Loved this book!
