The main character is a bit of a doormat in the early book, but things turn around from there. The family dynamics are painfully real in this one.

Really, really insufferable. I do not know how this was a New York Times best seller. It's really awful and the characters make you hope that people aren't really like that in real life. Don't bother.

This story was painful and frustrating to read. Woman without a back bone, hard to sympathize.

As her name might suggest, Fixie likes to fix things. One day at a coffee shop a stranger asks her to watch his laptop. She does so and ends up saving the laptop after the roof caves in. The stranger, good-looking Sebastian, offers her an…

I did not really enjoy this book because I started to lose interest in the plot and the characters. The main character, Fixie Farr is very annoying and unrealistic, she can not solve her own problems and it takes the whole book for her to…

Typical Sophie Kinsella. Great mindless read.

The heroine here was a real doormat for her family that walked all over her, and you just really wanted to slap the lot of them. But everything gets wrapped up in a nice little package so don't fret. If you need something cozy set in…

435 pages. I was fully prepared to give this two stars but it took every bit of energy to get through the last 30 pages. Down to one star. Besides Seb, every character in this book is so hard to be around. Mostly awful. I just found my…

At one point, Sophie Kinsella was my go-to author for women's fiction but for some reason it's been years since I've read one of her books. I'm glad to see that the spark is still there and I will definitely be putting in some time to…

I love Sophie Kinsella books, I have read many. This one is good, but it's not one of my favourites. It has the typical humor and smooth writing, that I love about Kinsella books, but I found the story dragged on at certain parts. Overall,…

This was a sweet, fun, easy read. I spent a lot of the book frustrated with the main character, however the ending of the book redeemed itself for me.

One of my favorite authors - this is one of my favorites of her books.

I really enjoyed reading this book because it was an easy, fun, and romantic read! I grew attached to Seb and I thought Fixie was too annoying and sort of unrealistic.

A page turner. Finished in 3 nights. It did take a while for the MC to stand up for herself when every person in her life was behaving foolishly - thereby bringing potential ruin into her personal/professional life. I felt like the ending…

I usually love a good Sophie Kinsella, but this one had me snoring. I think her writing in general is coming far too predictable! I actually didn't even finished it!

If you've read any of Sophie Kinsella's previous books, then you know what to expect with this one. I did like Fixie more than some of Kinsella's other heroines. She is more down to earth and has relatable problems, such as lack of…

I may not have given this story 5 stars, but when I read a book by this author, I cannot deny that she is a fabulous writer. Her stories are amazingly developed in character and story. I Owe You One was no different and while I might not…

This darn book. I waited and waited for 'I Owe You One' from KCLS then found myself slogging through the first 200 pages or so, asking myself why I was wasting my time. . . THEN I stayed up until 2:30am to finish it. What I found…

This is one of Sophie Kinsella's best stand-alone novels. Fixie Farr is one of her best heroines and one of her most realistic ones. There are many women like Fixie, who are anxious to please other people and who don't want to rock the…

Literature this book is not. However, it is a comfortable romance where one knows who the good guys are and who the bad ones. Even though one knows exactly what is going to happen it is comforting to see the likes of Ryan get their just…

I could not stand the heroine nor her siblings nor her love interests. Too flat, too formulaic, too irritating.

This book is a pleasant way to pass some time, and it really makes me want to go shopping for homegoods. Not as streamlined as Kinsella's previous books, but the characters are engaging.

this book was like the girl scout cookies of literature (and i like girl scout cookies.) formulaic - meet cute, attractive but mean current partner, wacky cast of ancillary characters, misunderstanding that almost destroys the budding…
