This is worth a read. I felt the story line wasn't completely predictable, and the characterization was well-done. I liked the personality of the main character and her insecurities were understandable. The mystery was very complex and a bit hard to follow because of multiple names used for the characters (Dukes/baronesses have multiple names, especially when you add in first names). But interesting once you figure it out. I am going to try to find more of the books in the series, I liked this one so much.

-Good premise: check
-Good Characterization: check
-Good writing style: check
-Enjoyment of book: Meh

With all the 'checks' above, I really tried to like this, but alas ended up skimming the last hundred pages. I found myself indifferent to the mystery element and wished the subplot about the maid's romance was left off. I think if the story could have been condensed by 150 pages and the suspense level ratcheted up a notch, I could have given it 5 stars.

Of dukes, Baronness', inheritances, romance, mystery and danger, This was my first book by the author and I was impressed and entertained. The plot was engaging and the romance very sweet. I look forward to other books by this author
