Introducing an explosive true-life southern gothic story, a chronicle of the twists and turns of a high-stakes investigation into the murders of eight women in a troubled Jennings, Louisiana parish. Ethan Brown suggests these homicides were not the work of a single serial killer, but the violent fallout of Jennings' brutal sex and drug trade. Epic in scope and intensely suspenseful, this is the story of an American town buckling under the dark forces of poverty, race, and class division - and a lightning rod for justice for the daughters it lost. Soon to be a PBS Frontline documentary.

The rampant police corruption in the town of Jennings is shocking and terrifying and downright evil. It's easy to forget that places like Jennings are everywhere with deep rooted drug use and prostitution and that despite national attention 8 murders of downtrodden women can be blatantly left unsolved. Brown offers much eager speculation in this supremely complicated true crime book.
