I'm a huge fan of Christmas music, but not always of the country genre. I've listened to Kacey Musgraves in the past and appreciated her edgy tongue-in-cheek approach to lyrics and decided to give her Christmas album a try. I'm so glad I did. The entire album has a relaxed vintage 60s sound. She covers two of my favorite traditional songs, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and What Are You Doing New Year's Eve, both of which I really enjoyed. I also loved two of the new tracks she wrote for the album, Present Without a Bow and Christmas Makes Me Cry. A Willie Nice Christmas has some of those fun lyrics she's known for, also. This is definitely an album I'll be listening to again in future holiday seasons.
