In countries with rural areas where education is a privilege, not a given, this movie shows the resilience of children whose parents and families are hard-working, and want a better life for their children. In this way, not so different than any parents. But, the day to day realities of walking for hours over mountains to get to school while toting a live chicken to barter at the market, or being chased by angry elephants, and losing the only precious container of water they have, or pulling a disabled sibling in a rickety wheelchair through rough roads and streams, make their persistence even more impressive. These kids just take it in stride, and school is both destination and victory.
This would be such a great film to show to city kids, to encourage discussion, and to emphasize both differences and similarities in cultures, societies, and geographical locations.

Watch this doc! MUST SEE for all the spoiled school kids in rich countries, and teachers too. Who would have thought that going to school is wrought with such adventures and obstacles?
