Danny Cheng isn’t your average 18 year old, he has just gotten accepted into RISD, on a scholarship, and is an artist. Now, his parents live in Cupertino where all the super-affluent high end people live, but Danny’s family isn’t like those families. They aren’t exactly poor, but they have just enough money to get by on a daily basis. Danny’s best friend Harry Wong is one of those high end families, and fully supports Danny, so when Danny found one of his dads taped up box of information on a powerful Silicone Valley family, of course they can’t leave it alone. This book was a decent book, but could have been better. The book is definitely worth the read, but you need to have some patience, because in the middle of the book it becomes kind of lackadaisical . Kelly Gilbert was definitely creative with this book, with such good descriptions, that you could almost imagine being the character. This book took place in the past and present simultaneously in the same chapter, making it a little bit confusing, because you didn’t know what was going on, but after reading a good portion of the book, I was able to separate the parts that were in the past, and the ones that were in the present. All in all this was definitely a very interesting read, and I can’t wait to read her other books! -- Harrehat Kaur
