This book may seem intimidatingly long, but it has so many twists and turns throughout the plot that it's easy to stay invested. The writing is very well done and Sarah Waters, as always, is fantastic with historical details and descriptions. The story is dark, the characters rotten, but it's a fascinating read. I listened to the audiobook version and the reader did a great job of adjusting accents to match each character.
