Lam shows sharp insight into human nature. His characters ring true and the listener cares about them. He manages to make them interesting without making them extreme in any way. Their flaws are ordinary human flaws that readers can relate to. Lam draws life as I have experienced it: you never know if the choices you made were ultimately wrong or right, you simply do the best you can as an imperfect being in this moment. Beautifully drawn with a light hand. Worth listening to, worth reading.
