10 characters trying to get through WWII in Europe. ."An epic melding of many narratives. Alternating chapters braid together ten unique and starkly harrowing stories..." Fabulous writing. I read this book in 1 sitting, approx 13 hours. Seriously, could not put it down. One of the best novels I've ever read.
