Of course, you are quite free to disagree with me on this point - But - (Personally speaking) I think that Jackson Pollock (as an artist) was an utter fraud and I cannot appreciate his work at all.

In this brief bio-documentary you can clearly see by the footage of Pollock "dripping & splashing" on a canvas that he wasn't putting any thought into what the hell he was doing.

In fact, he looked thoroughly bored from my perspective on things.

Anyway - Not only does this 50-minute presentation from Kultur International look at Pollock's artistic output during his rather short lifetime - But (surprisingly enough), it also points out that he was a miserable drunkard with an ugly & explosive personality, as well.

*Note* - In 1956 - Jackson Pollock (44 at the time) was killed, as a passenger, in a car crash.

The script used for the narration seems to have been incomplete: no beginning and not much of an ending. Its fairly balanced in the choice of his works (only the second half of the brief film is about those wild, but methodical, pourings of paint). Descriptions of the works shown, without getting bogged down in the arcana of aesthetic theory.
