Rick Hansen is specifically written to meet the needs of adolescents and adults who are reluctant readers. The photographs, maps, and illustrations reflect the text, making the words easy to decode. This high-interest, low-vocabulary biography is ideal for English as a Second Language or adult basic education students.

At the age of 15, Rick Hansen (1957- ) suffered an accident and was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Through stills and text - This "minimal vocabulary" biography of less than 50 pages takes a direct and concise look at BC-born, wheelchair-bound athlete, Rick Hansen.

At the young age of just 15 Hansen had permanently lost the use of his legs after being involved in an auto accident where his back was broken.

Since that fateful day Hansen has certainly accomplished plenty.

To find out more about his life and his achievements be sure to refer to this compact, little book for more details.
