It's 2012 and an asteroid is racing towards the planet, threatening to extinguish humanity as we know it. The world's most important astrophysicists, astronomers, and theoretical mathematicians have been taken to a secret location and are desperately working to avoid a catastrophe, but it's only when Billy, a 16-year-old with rare gifts, is recruited to the cause that they can hope to prevail over evil and return themselves--and the Earth--to safety.

Personally, I found the beginning hard to get into, but by the middle to end I couldn't put it down and overall another impressive book by Eric Walters

eric walters is one of my favourite authors and never fails to impress me. This book was addicting. Read it in one day. I highly suggested for all ages 10+. Amazing story. Wish there was a second book.

My congratulations to Canadian author Eric Walters on a great book. I read it in the summer of 2012 and agree with my father, it should be rated teenage level and it should hold the interest of any adult. The fact that so many juvenile readers find it hard to understand, attests to this opinion. This is definitely a worthwhile read for any teen or adult reader. Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.

I did not like this book at all. I didn't understand the terminology and it was boring.

I thought the book was amazing. I really liked howEric Walters incorperated Billy into the book and that the synopsis on the back of the book didn't reveal too much but gets you interested. Also, I thought the ending was slightly abrupt since I wish they gave more details about the rocket.

I thought this book was better than most typical science fiction or "the-world-is-ending" books. I liked how it took two very unique people's point of veiw and brought them together in the end. I didn't like how the book ended right when the real adventure begins on the rocket, but from my experience Eric Walter does that a lot with his endings in books.

First off, amazing detail at times I felt I was right there with Billy. The scientific feeling made it so much amazing-er (is that a word?). On the other hand at times, I got confuse at points in the book which made me re-read the chapter over again. Other than that great book. 3/5 stars -Footzah

I liked this book a lot! It seemed very scientific and a little hard to understand at first but it became easier to understand throughout the book. I love how Dr.Sheppard gets to live out his dream, and the ending was simply beautiful. I'm glad Billy softened up a bit from his usual New Yorker attitude. This is one of the best books I've ever read, and surely one of the best Eric Walters has ever written.
