Whyte shifts perspective once again in the Camulod Chronicles, and gives a rich and believable portrait of the Celtic lands and people of Uther's Pendragon. This volume works well as a stand-alone historical novel, full of bloodthirsty action, or as an installment in the longer series, finally revealing mysteries elsewhere in the narrative.
