If only Kelli Garner had accessed the depth of Marilyn Monroe's - Norma Jean's - character, not just mannerisms. I found it very disheartening to watch because Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful person. Kelli Garner played her to perfection in the way a lot of people still misconceive her, not the way I believe she truly was. The film has fun plunging into the juicy details of Marilyn Monroe's sex life and the intrigue of her mental illness. At times i really believed Kelli garner had it...I just wish she maintained it throughout. I don't want to sound rude - it's obvious Kelli Garner applied herself like few actors do in bringing a figure from history to the screen. She must have studied for hours and hours to refine the way she spoke and moved - but couldn't she have also tried to seek out the delicate beauty in Marilyn's personality and her insecurities????
