This compelling, gripping book takes place in a society in which science has advanced to a certain degree that people can make themselves physically perfect. The concept of being flawed, physically and socially, is a big deal. There are all kinds of interesting factors to this story: the society; the rules; what happens when you break those rules; and Celestine herself, whose mind is always fascinating (if regularly frustrating). It's a quick, easy read, but only the first in the duology has been published so far. Be prepared to be unsatisfied!
