Jun 09, 2017TEENREVIEWCREW rated this title 3 out of 5 stars
A way too cocky and privileged teen becomes cursed by a fellow classmate making him ugly. The only way for him to be attractive again is to find true love. This proves itself to be a challenge since he is now almost impossible to look at, and is trying his best to hide from everyone. The movie does it’s best to teach the importance of looking beyond physical appearance and truly getting to know someone as a person, however, the message was occasionally lost and it seemed as though the opportunity for an important lesson was sometimes missed. Overall, I would rate this film 3/5 stars and recommend it to those who enjoy messages of inner beauty. - @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Beastly is an interesting modern day version of Beauty and the Beast. As a disney fan who loved the original story of Beauty and the Beast as a child, I find that Beastly is a great teenage version. This movie, which is based on the book by Alex Flinn, delivers an important message that appearances do not matter and that we should not be obsessed with the way that we or other people look. Alex Pettyfer and Vanessa Hudgens are amazing actors that deliver the message of the movie perfectly. - @reginaphalange of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
